Budapest Half Marathon and Marathon
No doubt, that Budapest has one of the World's most beautiful urban landscapes which illustrates the great periods in the history of the Hungarian capital. Furthermore the 31st Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon and 31st SPAR Budapest Marathon is the only Half Marathon and Marathon in the World involving two UNESCO World Heritage sights within one race. The participants first run along the Andrássy Avenue (among others passing by the Opera House), than they continue the race on the Banks of the Danube admiring the Buda Castle panorama, and after crossing the Chain Bridge, the view of one of the most beautiful Parliament building of the World.
The first Budapest Half and Full Marathon was organised in 1984. During the last 31 years the race grew up into a major event in Budapest with 16 000 and 25 000 runners in 2015. Both event became also a real international event having together more than 3000 international runners from 65 countries. British runners are the biggest group of foreign runner with 473 entries together.

Thanks to a unique geological feature, Budapest 'sits' on over 100 thermal springs that feed the city's famous bathhouses. There is nothing to compare to the feeling having a healing bath after your long run.
Come and experience it after the 31st Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon, on the 11th September 2016 or after the 31st SPAR Budapest Marathon, on the 9th October 2016!
